King James Version
2 Thessalonians • Chapter 1
1
Paul and Silvanus and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3
We ought to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, as it is fitting, because your faith is increasing and the love of each one of you is overflowing for one another.
4
So that we ourselves may boast in you among the churches of God for your endurance and faith in all your persecutions and the afflictions which you are enduring,
5
An example of the righteous judgment of God, to make you worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer,
6
If it is just for God to repay those who are troubling you with affliction.
7
And to you who are troubled, rest with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels.
8
in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus,
9
who will pay the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10
When He comes to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed, on that day.
11
To this end, we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling and fulfill every good pleasure of goodness and work of faith with power,
12
So that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the Grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ.
