1 Then Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man, lame from his mother's womb, was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple called Beautiful, to ask for alms from those entering the temple. 3 Who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked to receive alms. 4 And Peter, gazing at him with John, said, "Look at us." 5 But he was waiting for them, hoping to receive something from them. 6 And Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have, I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." 7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. 8 And having leaped up, he stood and walked, and he entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 They recognized him as the one who was sitting by the Beautiful Gate of the temple for alms, and they were filled with amazement and wonder at what had happened to him. 11 But while he was holding Peter and John, all the people came together to them in the portico called Solomon's, astonished. 12 And Peter, seeing this, answered the people: "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this, or why do you gaze at us as though by our own power or piety we had made him walk?" 13 The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied before Pilate, when he was deciding to release him. 14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you. 15 And you killed the author of life, whom God raised from the dead, of whom we are witnesses. 16 And by faith in his name, this one whom you see and know, has made strong his name, and the faith that is through him has given this complete soundness in the presence of all of you. 17 And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did. 18 But God fulfilled in this way what He had foretold by the mouth of all the prophets that Christ would suffer. 19 Therefore repent and turn towards the erasure of your sins. 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the appointed Christ for you, Jesus, 21 Whom it is necessary for heaven to receive until the times of the restoration of all things which God spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets since ancient times. 22 Moses indeed said that the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet from among your brothers like me; you will listen to him in all that he says to you. 23 And every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people. 24 And all the prophets from Samuel and those who spoke afterwards, they announced and proclaimed these days. 25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed." 26 God first raised up His servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you away from your wickedness.
