King James Version
Deuteronomy • Chapter 10
1
At that time, the Lord said to me, "Cut for yourself two stone tablets like the first ones, and come up to me on the mountain, and make for yourself an ark of wood."
2
And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.
3
And I will make an ark of acacia wood, and I will chisel two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will go up the mountain, and the two tablets in my hand.
4
And he wrote on the tablets the same as the first writing the Ten Words which the Lord spoke to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly, and the Lord gave them to me.
5
And I went down from the mountain and put the tablets, which I had made, into the ark, as the Lord commanded me.
6
And the sons of Israel set out from the wells of the sons of Jaakan, and Aaron died there, and he was buried there, and Eleazar his son ministered in his place.
7
From there they journeyed to Gadgedah, and from Gadgedah they reached the land of rivers of water.
8
At that time, the LORD separated the tribe of Levi to carry the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to serve Him and to bless in His name to this day.
9
Therefore, Levi had no portion or inheritance with his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, as the LORD your God spoke to him.
10
And I stood on the mountain for forty days and forty nights; and the Lord heard me again that time; the Lord did not wish to destroy you.
11
And the Lord said to me, "Arise, go to the journey in front of the people, and they shall come in and inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give to them."
12
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you, except to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul?
13
To keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes that I command you today for your good.
14
Behold, to the Lord your God belong the heavens and the heavens of the heavens, the earth and all that is in it.
15
Only in your ancestors, the Lord desired to love them and He chose their offspring after them among you from all the nations as it is this day.
16
And you shall circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and you shall not harden your neck anymore.
17
For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality and does not take a bribe.
18
He does justice for the orphan and the widow and loves the foreigner to give him bread and clothing.
19
And you shall love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
20
You shall fear the LORD your God, Him you shall serve, and to Him you shall cling, and in His name you shall swear.
21
He is your praise and He is your God who has done for you the great and terrible things that your eyes have seen.
22
With seventy souls your fathers went down to Egypt, and now the Lord your God has made you numerous like the stars of heaven.
