King James Version
Deuteronomy • Chapter 22
1
You shall not see your brother's ox or his sheep being led astray, and ignore them; you shall surely return them to your brother.
2
And if your brother is not near to you and you do not know him, then you shall gather him into your house, and he shall be with you until your brother seeks him, and you shall return him to him.
3
And similarly, you shall do for his donkey, and similarly, you shall do for his garment, and similarly, you shall do for any lost thing of your brother, which he has lost and you find, you shall not ignore.
4
You shall not see your brother's donkey or his ox falling on the way and hide yourself from them; you shall certainly raise them up with him.
5
A man shall not put on a woman's garment, nor shall a woman wear a man's garment, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.
6
If a bird's nest is encountered before you on the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young or eggs, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young.
7
You shall surely send away the mother, and the children you shall take for yourself, so that it may be well for you and that you may prolong your days.
8
When you build a new house, you shall make a railing for your roof, so that you do not bring blood upon your house if someone falls from it.
9
You shall not sow your vineyard with mixed seeds, lest the produce of the seed which you sow and the fruit of the vineyard be defiled.
10
You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.
11
You shall not wear wool and linen together.
12
You shall make tassels for yourself on the four corners of your garment with which you cover yourself.
13
When a man takes a woman and comes to her and hates her.
14
And he shall set for her accusations of words, and shall bring upon her a bad name, and shall say to this woman, 'I took this woman and went to her, and I did not find in her any signs of virginity.'
15
And the father of the girl and her mother will take the girl’s betrotheds to the elders of the city at the gate.
16
And the father of the young man said to the elders, "I have given my daughter to this man to be his wife, and he hates her."
17
And behold, he is there with accusations of words saying, "I have not found in your daughter any virgins, and these are the virgins of my daughter," and they spread the garment before the elders of the city.
18
And the elders of that city shall take the man and they shall punish him.
19
And they shall punish him with a hundred shekels of silver, and they shall give it to the father of the young woman, because he has caused a bad name to be raised against the virgin of Israel, and she shall be his wife; he cannot send her away all his days.
20
And if this thing was true, they did not find virgins from a young man to a young woman.
21
And they shall bring out the young woman to the entrance of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones and she shall die, because she has committed an outrage in Israel by whoring in her father's house, and you shall purge the evil from your midst.
22
If a man is found lying with a woman who is married to a husband, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman and the woman, and you shall purge the evil from Israel.
23
If a girl, a virgin, is betrothed to a man, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her.
24
And you shall bring out the two of them to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them with stones so that they die, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he humbled his neighbor's wife; and you shall purge the evil from your midst.
25
If a man finds the young woman who is betrothed in the field, and the man lays hold of her and lies with her, and the man who lay with her dies alone.
26
And for a boy and for a girl, you shall not do a thing; there is no sin for a boy or for a girl that leads to death, because as a man rises against his neighbor and kills him, so is this matter.
27
For in the field she found, the young woman cried out, and there is no one to save her.
28
If a man finds a young woman, a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out.
29
And the man who lies with her shall give the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife because he has humbled her; he may not put her away all his days.
30
A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor discover his father’s skirt.
