King James Version

Ezekiel • Chapter 13

1 And the word of the LORD came to me saying. 2 Son of man, prophesy to the prophets of Israel, the prophets, and say to the prophets from their heart, Hear the word of the Lord. 3 Thus says the Lord: Woe to the worthless prophets who go after their own spirit and have not seen. 4 As foxes in the ruins, your prophets, Israel, were. 5 You did not ascend in the breaches, and you built a wall for the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the LORD. 6 They have seen false visions and lying divination, saying, "Thus says the LORD," but the LORD did not send them, and they hope to establish a word. 7 “Have you not seen a false vision and spoken a lie, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord,’ and I have not spoken?” 8 Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: Because you speak emptiness and see falsehood, therefore, behold, I am against you, declares the Lord GOD. 9 And my hand will be against the prophets who see falsehood and the diviners of deceit; in the counsel of my people they will not be, and in the writing of the house of Israel they will not be written, and to the land of Israel they will not come. And you will know that I am the Lord God. 10 Because they have led my people astray, saying, "Peace," when there is no peace, and he builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar. 11 Say to the dust of the spices, and it will fall; there was a pouring rain, and the stones of the glass will fall, and the wind of storms will break through. 12 And behold, the wall has fallen. Will it not be said to you, "Where is the mortar that you used?" 13 Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh: I will unleash a stormy wind in my fury, and there will be a torrential rain in my anger, and hailstones will fall with fury to destroy all. 14 And I will destroy the wall that you have plastered with whitewash, and I will bring it down to the ground, and its foundation will be revealed, and it will fall, and you will be consumed in its midst, and you will know that I am the LORD. 15 And I ended my wrath against the wall, and against the fortifications I will lay him low, and I will say to you, There is no wall, and there are no fortifications. 16 The prophets of Israel prophesied to Jerusalem and the seers saw a vision of peace, but there is no peace, says my Lord, Yahweh. 17 And you, son of man, set your face toward the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own heart, and prophesy against them. 18 And you shall say, thus says my Lord Yahweh: Woe to those who sew together covers for every noble of hand and make the attachments upon the head of every height to hunt souls; the souls you shall hunt shall live for your people, and souls shall live for you. 19 And you shall profane my name among my people by the altars of grains and by the offerings of bread to kill souls that should not die and to keep alive souls that should not live, by your lies to my people who listen to lies. 20 Therefore, thus says my Lord YHWH: Behold, I am against your thrones that you set there to catch souls for the slaughter, and I will tear them from your arms, and I will send away the souls that you catch to slaughter. 21 And I will tear your nets, and I will save my people from your hand, and they will no longer be in your hand for capture, and you will know that I am the Lord. 22 Because the heart of the righteous is deceived, and I have not caused pain, and to strengthen the hands of the wicked, to not turn back from his evil way to keep him alive. 23 Therefore, you will no longer see falsehood, and you will no longer practice divination, and I will save my people from your hand, and you will know that I am the LORD.
