King James Version

Ezekiel • Chapter 15

1 And the word of the Lord came to me saying. 2 Son of man, what will be the tree of the vine from all the trees of the branches that were in the trees of the forest? 3 Is a tree taken from us to make work, or will they take a peg from us to hang every tool upon? 4 Behold, to the fire it is given to consume both my ends; the fire has consumed, and its depth has been devoured; will it succeed for the task? 5 Behold, in its being whole, it shall not be done for work; even if a fire has consumed it, it shall still be made for work. 6 Therefore, thus says the Lord Yahweh: As the tree of the vine is among the trees of the forest which I have given for fire to eat, so I have given the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 7 And I will set my face against them; from the fire they came out, and the fire will consume them, and you will know that I am the Lord when I set my face against them. 8 And I will make the land desolate because they have acted treacherously against the word of the Lord.
