1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 2 Son of man, set your face toward the way of the south and prophesy toward the forest of the Negev. 3 And you shall say to the forest of the Negev, "Hear the word of the Lord; thus says my Lord, the Lord: Behold, I am kindling a fire in you, and it will consume every moist tree and all dry tree; it shall not be quenched by the flame, and all faces shall burn in it from the south to the north." 4 And all flesh shall see that I am the LORD; I have kindled it; it shall not be extinguished. 5 And I said, "Ah, Lord Yahweh, they are saying to me, 'Is he not speaking parables?'" 6 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 7 Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem and speak to the sanctuaries and prophesy against the land of Israel. 8 And you shall say to the land of Israel, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am against you, and I will bring my sword out of its sheath and cut off from you the righteous and the wicked. 9 Because I have cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore my sword shall go out from its sheath against all flesh from south to north. 10 And all flesh shall know that I am the LORD; I have brought out My sword from its sheath; it shall not return again. 11 And you, son of man, groan with the breaking of your loins and with bitterness groan before their eyes. 12 And it shall be when they say to you, “Why are you groaning?” that you shall say to them, “Because the news has come, and every heart has melted, and every hands are weak, and every spirit is faint, and all knees are weak as water. Behold, the news has come, and it shall be a declaration of the Lord God.” 13 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 14 Son of man, prophesy and say, thus says the Lord: say, the sword, the sword is sharpened and also polished. 15 For the purpose of slaughtering a slaughter that is hidden, for the purpose of being a flash of light or a prince who despises every tree. 16 And he gave it to Martha to grasp in her hand; it was a sharpened sword, and she was urged to place it in the hand of the killer. 17 Cry and wail, son of man, for it has been in my people; it has been with all the princes of Israel. They were struck down by the sword; therefore, strike to the thigh. 18 For it is tested, and what if even a staff of rejection will not be? The utterance of my Lord, Yahweh. 19 And you, son of man, prophesy and strike your palm to palm, and let the sword be doubled, the third sword; it is the sword of the slain, it is a great sword that pierces them. 20 For the sake of the heart and to increase the stumbling blocks upon all their gates, I have given the weapon of the sword, a thing made for slaughter. 21 Unite me, the one who trusts in me; set me to your left, where are your appointed times? 22 And I will also strike my hand against my hand and I will rest my anger; I am Yahweh, I have spoken. 23 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying. 24 And you, son of man, set for yourself two ways for the sword of the king of Babylon to come from one land; they will go out, both of them, and a hand will be at the head of the way to the city. 25 A way shall be set for the sword to come against the great ones of the children of Ammon and against Judah in Jerusalem besieged. 26 For a king stood in Babylon at the mother of the way at the head of the two ways to practice divination; to cast arrows, he asked at the teraphim, he observed in the liver. 27 On His right was the magic of Jerusalem to place ramparts to open a mouth in slaughter to raise a voice with a shout to place ramparts upon gates to pour a path for building a wall. 28 And it will be like a deceptive charm in their eyes, a swearing of oaths for them, and it will remind of iniquity to be taken hold of. 29 Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh: Because you remember your iniquities in revealing your transgressions to show your sins in all your deeds, because you remember, you will be caught in the net. 30 And you, wicked slain one, leader of Israel, who came in the day of the time of sin. 31 Thus says my lord, Yahweh: Remove the mitre and lift the crown; this is not the one. The low will be exalted and the high will be brought low. 32 I will set injustice, even this has not happened until the judgment comes to him, and I will give it.
