King James Version
Ezekiel • Chapter 26
1
And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying.
2
Son of man, because the rock has said against Jerusalem, "The gates of the nations have been broken; I will be filled with destruction."
3
Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, O rock, and I will bring up against you many nations like the rising of the sea waves.
4
And they will destroy the walls of Tyre, and they will raze its towers, and I will scrape its dust from it, and I will make it a bare rock.
5
The sanctuary will be in the midst of the sea because I have spoken, says the Lord God, and it will be for a plunder to the nations.
6
And the daughters of her who are in the field shall be slain by the sword, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
7
For thus says my Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am bringing against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, from the north, king of kings, with a horse and with a chariot and with horsemen, and a gathering and a great people.
8
Your daughters in the field shall be killed by the sword, and he shall place upon you a precise measure and shall pour upon you a heap, and he shall raise up upon you a shield.
9
And you will give them into your walls, and your towers will be broken by your swords.
10
The dust of my horses will cover you from the sound of the horse and the wheel; your walls will tremble as they come in through your gates like the entrance of a breached city.
11
In the chariots of my horse, he will trample all your streets; your people will be killed by the sword, and your mighty ones will fall to the ground.
12
And they will plunder your strength and they will loot your merchandise, and they will destroy your walls, and your desirable houses will be shattered, and your stones and your trees and your dust they will place in the midst of waters.
13
And I will make to cease the multitude of your songs, and the sound of your harps will not be heard again.
14
And I will give you a desolate rock; you will be a place of wasteland; it will no longer be built, for I, the Lord, have spoken; the Lord has declared.
15
Thus says the Lord Yahweh to Tzor: “Is it not from the sound of your fall, that in the midst of the slain in the depths, the slain will tremble among you, the islands?”
16
And all the princes of the sea shall descend from their thrones, and they shall remove their robes and their embroidered garments, they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit on the ground and be startled for a moment, and they shall be desolate over you.
17
"And they will lift up a lamentation for you and say to you, ‘How you have perished, you who were inhabited from the seas, the renowned city, which was strong on the sea, she and her inhabitants who imposed their terror on all her inhabitants.’"
18
Now the islands will tremble on the day of your downfall, and the seas will be troubled because of your going out.
19
For thus says the Lord, when I bring upon you a devastated city like the cities that are not inhabited, when I raise the deep against you and cover you with the great waters.
20
And I will bring you down to those who go down to the pit, to the people of eternity; and I will set you in the land of the netherworlds, in the desolate places from of old, with those who go down to the pit, so that you may not dwell there; and I will give glory in the land of the living.
21
I will not allow you to be found any more forever, says my Lord Yahweh.
