King James Version

Ezekiel • Chapter 34

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying. 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the sheep? 3 You shall eat the fat, and you shall wear the wool; you shall sacrifice the animals; do not graze the sheep. 4 You did not strengthen the weak, and you did not heal the sick, and you did not bind up the broken, and you did not bring back the strayed, and you did not seek the lost; and with force you ruled over them and with cruelty. 5 And they were scattered without a shepherd, and they became food for every beast of the field, and they were scattered. 6 My flock will stray on all the mountains and on all high hills, and on all the surface of the earth my flock has been scattered, and there is no one to seek and no one to search. 7 Therefore, shepherds, hear the word of the Lord. 8 As I live, declares the Lord God, if my flock does not become a prey, and my sheep become food for all the wild animals, because there is no shepherd, and my shepherds did not seek my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and did not feed my sheep. 9 Therefore the shepherds hear the word of the Lord. 10 Thus says my Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My sheep from their hand, and I will cause them to cease from shepherding the sheep, and the shepherds shall no longer feed themselves; and I will deliver My sheep from their mouth, and they shall not be for them to eat. 11 For thus says the Lord, behold, I, I will seek out my sheep and visit them. 12 As a shepherd inspects his flock on the day he is among his sheep, so I will inspect my sheep and deliver them from all the places where they have been scattered on the day of cloud and darkness. 13 And I brought them out from the peoples and gathered them from the countries and brought them into their own land, and I fed them on the mountains of Israel by the valleys and in all the habitations of the land. 14 In a good pasture, I will feed them, and on the mountains of Israel, their dwelling will be; there they will lie down in a good pasture and in a fat pasture they will graze on the mountains of Israel. 15 I will shepherd my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, says my Lord, Yahweh. 16 I will seek the lost and bring back the strayed and bind up the broken and strengthen the sick, but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them with judgment. 17 And you shall be as sheep; thus says the Lord God: behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and he-goats. 18 You shall graze the little from your good pasture, and you shall trample with your feet the remainder of your pastures, and you shall drink from the deep waters, and the leftovers you shall trample with your feet. 19 And my sheep will graze from under your feet, and from under your feet they will drink. 20 Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh to them: Here I am, and I will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Because with side and with shoulder you will push, and with your horns you will gore all the herds until you have scattered them to the outside. 22 And I will save my sheep, and they will no longer be a prey, and I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23 And I will raise up over them one shepherd, and he will tend them—my servant David. He will tend them and he will be their shepherd. 24 And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them; I, the Lord, have spoken. 25 And I will cut for them a covenant of peace, and I will banish wild animals from the land, and they shall dwell in the wilderness safely and shall sleep in the forests. 26 And I will give them and the surrounding area of my hill a blessing, and I will bring down the rain in its season; the rains of blessing will be. 27 And the tree of the field will give its fruit, and the land will yield its produce, and they will dwell securely on their land, and they will know that I am the Lord when I break the bars of their yoke and deliver them from the hand of those who enslave them. 28 And they will no longer be a prey to the nations, and the beasts of the earth will not consume them, and they will dwell securely, and there will be no one to make them afraid. 29 And I will establish for them a planting for name, and there will no longer be gathered famine in the land, and they will no longer bear the reproach of the nations. 30 And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, and they are My people, the house of Israel, says the Lord GOD. 31 And you are the flock of my pasture, you are men; I am your God, says the Lord Yahweh.
