King James Version

Hebrews • Chapter 1

1 In many ways and at many times, God spoke long ago to the fathers through the prophets. 2 In these last days, He has spoken to us by a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds. 3 who being the radiance of his glory and the exact representation of his being, carrying along all things by the word of his power, after making purification for sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as much as he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs. 5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, "You are My Son; today I have begotten You," and again, "I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son"? 6 And when he again brings the firstborn into the inhabited world, he says: And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And concerning the angels, he says: "He who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire." 8 But concerning the Son: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions. 10 And you, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands. 11 They themselves will perish, but you will remain; and all will become as a worn-out garment. 12 And you will wrap them up like a garment, and they will be changed; but you are the same, and your years will have no end. 13 To which of the angels did He ever say, "Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet"? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
