King James Version

Isaiah • Chapter 43

1 And now, thus says the LORD, who created you, Jacob, and formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you; when you walk through fire, you will not be burned, and the flame will not consume you. 3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. 4 Because you were precious in my eyes, you were honored, and I loved you; I will give people in exchange for you and nations in exchange for your life. 5 Do not fear, for I am with you; from the east I will bring your offspring, and from the west I will gather you. 6 Say to the north, give up, and to the south, do not restrain; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth. 7 All who are called by My name, and for My glory I have created, formed, and made. 8 He brought out a blind people and they have eyes, and deaf ones and they have ears. 9 All the nations gather together, and the peoples assemble; who among them can declare this, and let their former ones announce it? Let them bring their witnesses, and let them be justified, and let them hear and say the truth. 10 You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe in me and understand that I am he; before me no god was formed, and after me there will be none. 11 I, I am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior. 12 I have declared and I have saved and I have made heard, and there is no foreigner among you, and you are my witnesses, says Yahweh, and I am God. 13 I am He from day one, and there is no hand that can deliver; I act, and who can reverse it? 14 Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake, I sent to Babylon and brought down all their nobles and the Chaldeans in the ships of their rejoicing. 15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, Creator of Israel, your King. 16 Thus says the Lord, who gives a way in the sea and a path in mighty waters. 17 He who brings out chariots and horses of strength and might together; they shall lie down and not rise; they are extinguished like flax. 18 Do not remember the former things, and do not consider the ancient ones. 19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it will spring forth; will you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. 20 I will be honored by the beasts of the field, by the jackals and the daughters of the ostrich, for I gave water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to drink for My chosen people. 21 This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise. 22 And you did not call out to me, Jacob, because you have become weary of me, Israel. 23 You have not brought me your sheep for burnt offerings, nor have you honored me with your sacrifices; I have not caused you to serve with an offering, nor have I tired you with incense. 24 You did not buy me with silver; you did not satisfy me with the fat of your sacrifices. Instead, you have made me serve with your sins; you have wearied me with your iniquities. 25 I, even I, am the one who erases your transgressions for my sake, and your sins I will not remember. 26 Remember me; let us be judged together; you tell so that you may be justified. 27 Your father first sinned, and your advocates have transgressed against me. 28 And I will profane the princes of the sanctuary and I will give Jacob to the curse and Israel to reproaches.
