King James Version
Isaiah • Chapter 66
1
Thus says the Lord: "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house that you will build for me, and where is the place of my rest?"
2
And all these things my hand has made, and all these things come to be, declares the Lord. But to this one will I look, to the humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at my word.
3
The slaughterer of the ox strikes a person; the one who sacrifices the sheep severs the neck; the one who brings a meal offering offers blood; the pig's blood recalls the idol; the one who blesses is iniquity; also, they have chosen in their ways and in their abominations their souls desire.
4
I too will choose their plants and their dwellings I will bring to them, because I called and there was no answer, I spoke and they did not listen, and they did evil in my eyes and chose what I did not delight in.
5
Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: Your brothers who hate you and cast you out for My name's sake said, "Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy," but they will be ashamed.
6
The voice of tumult comes from the city, the voice from the temple; the voice of the LORD dealing retribution to His enemies.
7
Before she begins to give birth, before the pain comes upon her, she will give birth to a male.
8
Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day, or shall a nation be brought forth all at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children.
9
I will bear, and I will not give birth, says the LORD; if I am the one who causes to give birth and I have restrained, says your God.
10
Rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in her, all you who love her; rejoice with her joy, all you who mourn for her.
11
So that you may be nourished and satisfied from the richness of her comfort; so that you may choose and delight in the splendor of her glory.
12
For thus says the LORD: "Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall be carried upon the hip and bounced upon the knees."
13
Like a man whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and in Jerusalem, you shall be comforted.
14
And you will see and your heart will rejoice, and your bones will flourish like grass; and the hand of the Lord will be known to His servants, and He will be angry with His enemies.
15
For behold, the Lord will come in fire, and like a whirlwind His chariots, to repay in fury His anger and His rebuke with flames of fire.
16
For the LORD will execute judgment by fire, and by His sword He will judge all flesh, and many will be the slain of the LORD.
17
Those who are sanctifying and those who are purifying will go to the gardens, after one another, in the midst of those eating the flesh of the pig and the abomination and the mouse; together they will perish, says the Lord.
18
And I will gather all the nations and the languages, and they will come and see my glory.
19
And I will set a sign among them, and I will send survivors from them to the nations: to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the distant islands that have not heard my report and have not seen my glory, and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
20
And they shall bring all your brothers from all the nations as an offering to the Lord on horses and in chariots and on mules and on donkeys and on large wagons to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the children of Israel bring the offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.
21
And I will also take from them for the priests, for the Levites, says the Lord.
22
For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make stand before me, declares the Lord, so your offspring and your name shall stand.
23
And it shall be that from month to month and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, says the Lord.
24
And they will go out and see the corpses of the men who have sinned against me; for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they will be a horror to all flesh.
