King James Version

Leviticus • Chapter 1

1 And he called to Moses, and the Lord spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying. 2 Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When a man among you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of the livestock, from the herd or from the flock. 3 If his offering is from the cattle, a male without blemish, he shall bring it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting; he shall bring it to be accepted before the Lord. 4 And he shall place his hand upon the head of the offering, and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. 5 And he shall slaughter the bull before the Lord, and the sons of Aaron the priests shall bring the blood and splash the blood on the altar all around, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 6 And he shall remove the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces. 7 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall place fire on the altar and arrange wood upon the fire. 8 And the sons of Aaron the priests shall arrange the pieces, the head and the fat on the wood that is on the fire which is on the altar. 9 And he shall wash in water, and the priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord. 10 And if from the flock, his offering is from the sheep or from the goats for a burnt offering, a male without blemish, he shall bring it. 11 And he shall slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the Lord, and the sons of Aaron the priests shall splash its blood around the altar. 12 And he shall cut it into pieces, with its head and its fat, and the priest shall arrange them on the wood that is upon the fire, which is on the altar. 13 And the inner part and the legs he shall wash in water, and the priest shall bring all of it and shall burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, an offering by fire, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 14 And if from the birds a sacrifice rises to the Lord, and he shall bring from the turtledoves or from the young pigeons his sacrifice. 15 And the priest shall bring it to the altar and shall wring its head and shall burn it on the altar, and its blood shall be on the wall of the altar. 16 And he shall remove its covering with its feather and shall cast it beside the altar eastward to the place of the ashes. 17 And he shall divide it with his wings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar upon the wood that is on the fire; it is a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
