1 And these are the priests and the Levites who went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Yeshua, Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra. 2 Amariah, the king, is crushed. 3 Shekaniah the son of Jehoham, of the sons of Elam. 4 I am the gardener of my father. 5 Who is in the right about this matter? 6 Shemaiah and Joiarib knew. 7 "Deeply go, my portion, know these are the heads of the priests and their brothers in the days of Joshua." 8 And the Levites: Yeshua the son of Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, upon the canopies, he and his brothers. 9 And in the tower, they answered, and their brothers were before them for the duties. 10 And Yeshua fathered Yoiakim, and Yoiakim fathered Eliashiv, and Eliashiv fathered Yoyadah. 11 And Jehoiada begot Jonathan, and Jonathan begot Jadon. 12 And in the days of Jehoiakim, there were priests, heads of the fathers, for Seraiah, for Jeremiah, for Hananiah. 13 To Ezra Meshulam, to Amariah Yehokanán. 14 To King Jonathan the son of Shabaniah, Joseph. 15 To/for the destruction of Adna from the rulers of my portion. 16 For/unto Adiah, to/for Idhoah, Zechariah, to/for his garden, complete. 17 To Abiha Zichri for Minyamin for Mo'adiah Piltai. 18 To/Bilgeh, the report to/Shemaiah, Jonathan. 19 And to/for Yoyariv, my gift, to/for Idai, my strength. 20 To my light, I will bring deep darkness. 21 To/for the portion of Chilqiyah, to/for Yada’iah, Netanel. 22 The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan were recorded as heads of the fathers, and the priests during the reign of Darius the Persian. 23 The sons of Levi, the heads of the fathers, are written in the book of the days, and until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib. 24 And the heads of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, and their brothers, to stand opposite them to praise and give thanks as commanded by David, the man of God, for the duty corresponding to duty. 25 Matanya and/or Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshulam, Talmone, Accub, guards of the watch at the storerooms of the gates. 26 These are the days of Jehoiakim the son of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and Ezra the priest the scribe. 27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites from all their places to bring them to Jerusalem to do the dedication and joy, with thanksgivings and with songs, with cymbals, harps, and lyres. 28 And the sons of the singers were gathered from the square surrounding Jerusalem and from the courtyards of Netophah. 29 From the house of Gilgal and from the fields of Geba and Azmavet, for they built villages for them, the singers around Jerusalem. 30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves and they purified the people and the gates and the wall. 31 And I will bring the leaders of Judah up upon the wall, and I will set up two great choirs, and they will walk to the right upon the wall, toward the gate of the Ashpot. 32 And Hoshea went after them, and half of the leaders of Judah. 33 And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam. 34 Judah and Benjamin and Shemaiah and Jeremiah. 35 And the sons of the priests with the trumpets: Zechariah son of Jonathan son of Shemaiah son of Mattaniah son of Michajah son of Zakkur son of Asaph. 36 And my brothers Shemaiah and Azarel, from the lineage of Lailai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, the Channani, with the instruments of song of David, the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them. 37 And upon the gate of the eye, and opposite them, they ascended upon the steps of the city of David by the ascent to the wall from above to the house of David and up to the water gate eastward. 38 And the second thanksgiving goes to Moal, and I am behind her, and half of the people is above the wall, above the tower of the ovens, and up to the broad wall. 39 And from above the gate of Ephraim and above the old gate and above the gate of the fish, and from the tower of Hananel and from the tower of the hundred, and to the gate of the sheep, and they stood at the gate of the water. 40 And the two testimonies shall stand in the house of God, and I and half of the princes with me. 41 And the priests Eliakim, Maaseiah, Minyamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah with the trumpets. 42 And Ma’aseiah and Shemaiah and Eleazar and Uzziah and Johanan and Malchijah and Eilam and Azer, and the singers raised their voices, and Izrahiah the overseer. 43 And they sacrificed great sacrifices on that day, and they rejoiced because God had made them rejoice with great joy; also the women and the children rejoiced, and the joy of Jerusalem was heard from afar. 44 And on that day, men will be appointed over the stores for the offerings, for the first fruits and for the tithes, to gather them into the fields of the cities, the appointed portion of the Torah for the priests and for the Levites, because the joy of Judah is upon the priests and upon the Levites who stand. 45 And they kept the charge of their God and the charge of the purification, and the singers and the gatekeepers according to the command of David and Solomon his son. 46 For in the days of David and Asaph, from ancient times, the chief of the singers and a song of praise and thanksgiving to God. 47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah were giving portions to the singers and the gatekeepers, each day as their day was, and the Levites were setting apart to the sons of Aaron.
