King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 132

1 A song of ascents. Remember, O Lord, for David, all his afflictions. 2 He who has sworn to the Lord has vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob. 3 If I come into the tent of my house, if I ascend upon my bed. 4 If I give sleep to my eyes, to my eyelids, slumber. 5 Until I find a place for the LORD, dwelling places for the Mighty One of Jacob. 6 Behold, we have heard in Ephrathah; we found her in the fields of the forest. 7 We will prophesy to His dwellings, and we will bow down to the footstool of His feet. 8 Rise, O Lord, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. 9 Your priests will wear righteousness, and your faithful ones will shout for joy. 10 For the sake of David your servant, do not turn away the face of your anointed. 11 The LORD has sworn to David in truth; He will not turn from it: "The fruit of your body I will set upon your throne." 12 If your children keep my covenant and my testimonies, I will also teach them, even their children, forever they shall sit upon your throne. 13 For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place. 14 This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. 15 I will bless the needy with bread. 16 And the priests will not wear linen, and the faithful will rejoice and sing. 17 There I will raise up a horn for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed. 18 My enemies do not clothe me with shame, and upon me their disgrace will shine.
