King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 48

1 A song, a psalm for the sons of Korah. 2 Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, the holy mountain. 3 Beautiful is the sight of joy for all the earth; Mount Zion, the farthest north, the city of the great King. 4 God is known in her palaces as a refuge. 5 For behold, the kings have gathered; they have come together. 6 They saw it and were amazed; they were terrified and hurried away. 7 Trembling has seized them there, pain like that of a woman in labor. 8 You will break the ships of Tarshish with a east wind. 9 When we heard, so we saw in the city of the LORD of Hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish it forever. Selah. 10 We have compared your mercy, O God, in the midst of your sanctuary. 11 As your name, O God, so is your praise to the ends of the earth; your right hand is full of righteousness. 12 The mountain of Zion will rejoice; the daughters of Judah will be glad for your judgments. 13 Surround Zion and encircle her; count her towers. 14 Set your heart to the strength of her palaces so that you may tell to the last generation.
