King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 60

1 For the choirmaster; upon the lily of the testimony; a psalm of David; to instruct. 2 When he struck Aram Naharaim and Aram Zobah, Joab returned and killed twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. 3 God, you have rejected us; you have broken us; you have been angry; restore us again. 4 You made the earth tremble; its foundations are shaken because it is bent. 5 You have shown your people hard things; you have made us drink wine of staggering. 6 You have given a sign to those who fear you, to be lifted up from the presence of deceit. Selah. 7 For the sake of your friends, save; your right hand has delivered, and answer me. 8 God spoke in his holiness: "I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem and I will measure out the valley of Succoth." 9 To me is Gilead, and to me is Manasseh; Ephraim is the strength of my head; Judah is my lawgiver. 10 Moab, wash your feet over Edom; I will throw my shoe over Philistia. 11 Who will lead me to a fortified city? Who will bring me to Edom? 12 Have you not, O God, rejected us, and will you not go out, O God, with our hosts?
