King James Version

Psalms • Chapter 90

1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God: Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were born, and you brought forth the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, you are God. 3 You return man to dust and say, "Return, O children of man." 4 For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes, and like a watch in the night. 5 You will sow in the morning, and in the evening, you shall not rest; for in the morning, the grass will wither. 6 In the morning it sprouts and changes, in the evening it wilts and dries up. 7 For we are consumed by your anger, and by your wrath we are terrified. 8 You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance. 9 For all our days have turned away in Your anger; we have finished our years like a whisper. 10 The days of our years are seventy years, and if by strength, eighty years; yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for it is soon cut off and we fly away. 11 Who knows the strength of your anger and the fear of your wrath? 12 To count our days, so let Him teach us and let Him bring wisdom to our hearts. 13 Return, O Lord, how long? And be comforted concerning your servants. 14 Satisfy us in the morning with your kindness, and we will sing and rejoice all our days. 15 "Make us glad as many days as you have afflicted us, as many years as we have seen evil." 16 Your servants shall see your work, and your majesty upon your children. 17 And may the pleasantness of the Lord our God be upon us; and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, the work of our hands establish it.
