English Translation
Therefore, it is necessary for the overseer to be blameless, the husband of one wife, sober, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

The bishop therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.
