For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to accompany us and protect us from enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king, “Our God (Elohim)’s hand of protection is on all who worship him, but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him.”

כִּ֣י בֹ֗שְׁתִּי לִ/שְׁא֤וֹל מִן הַ/מֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ חַ֣יִל וּ/פָרָשִׁ֔ים לְ/עָזְרֵ֥/נוּ מֵ/אוֹיֵ֖ב בַּ/דָּ֑רֶךְ כִּֽי אָמַ֨רְנוּ לַ/מֶּ֜לֶךְ לֵ/אמֹ֗ר יַד אֱלֹהֵ֤י/נוּ עַל כָּל מְבַקְשָׁי/ו֙ לְ/טוֹבָ֔ה וְ/עֻזּ֣/וֹ וְ/אַפּ֔/וֹ עַ֖ל כָּל עֹזְבָֽי/ו
English Translation
For I was ashamed to speak to the king of warriors and horsemen to help us from the enemy on the way, for we had said to the king, to say, "The hand of our God is upon all who seek good for us and His strength and His anger is upon all who forsake us."
