וַ/יַּעַן֩ שְׁכַנְיָ֨ה בֶן יְחִיאֵ֜ל מִ/בְּנֵ֤י עולם עֵילָם֙ וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר לְ/עֶזְרָ֔א אֲנַ֨חְנוּ֙ מָעַ֣לְנוּ בֵ/אלֹהֵ֔י/נוּ וַ/נֹּ֛שֶׁב נָשִׁ֥ים נָכְרִיּ֖וֹת מֵ/עַמֵּ֣י הָ/אָ֑רֶץ וְ/עַתָּ֛ה יֵשׁ מִקְוֶ֥ה לְ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַל זֹֽאת
English Translation
And Shecaniah son of Jehiel, of the sons of Elam, answered and said to Ezra, "We have trespassed against our God and have taken foreign wives from the peoples of the land; and now there is hope for Israel concerning this."

And Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God (Elohim), and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land: yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing.
