Πιλᾶτος δὲ ⸀ἀκούσας ἐπηρώτησεν εἰ ὁ ἄνθρωπος Γαλιλαῖός ἐστιν,
English Translation
Pilate, upon hearing, questioned whether the man was from Galilee.

But when Pilate heard it, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.

But when Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilean.

But at these words Pilate said, Is the man a Galilaean?

But Pilate, having heard Galilee [named], demanded if the man were a Galilaean;

But Pilate hearing Galilee, asked if the man were of Galilee?

When he discovered that Yashua (Jesus) came under Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod who was also in Jerusalem at the time.
