Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, was the secretary. He wrote down the names and assignments in the presence of the king, the officials, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the family leaders of the priests and Levites. One family from Eleazar and one from Ithamar were chosen in turn.

English Translation
And they wrote that Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe from the Levites was before the king and the officials and Zadok the priest and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar and the heads of the fathers to the priests and to the Levites, one house was designated for Eleazar and another designated for Ithamar.
