In all of this you showed that you were sincere in wanting to make things right.

ἰδοὺ γὰρ αὐτὸ τοῦτο τὸ κατὰ θεὸν ⸀λυπηθῆναι πόσην κατειργάσατο ὑμῖν σπουδήν, ἀλλὰ ἀπολογίαν, ἀλλὰ ἀγανάκτησιν, ἀλλὰ φόβον, ἀλλὰ ἐπιπόθησιν, ἀλλὰ ζῆλον, ἀλλὰ ἐκδίκησιν· ἐν παντὶ συνεστήσατε ἑαυτοὺς ἁγνοὺς ⸀εἶναι τῷ πράγματι.

For behold, this very thing that you were grieved according to God has produced in you a great earnestness, but also a defense, but also an indignation, but also a fear, but also a longing, but also a zeal, but also a vindication; in everything you have proven yourselves to be pure in the matter.
