20 For it was of Jehovah to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

כִּ֣י מֵ/אֵ֣ת יְהוָ֣ה הָיְתָ֡ה לְ/חַזֵּ֣ק אֶת לִבָּ/ם֩ לִ/קְרַ֨את הַ/מִּלְחָמָ֤ה אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְמַ֣עַן הַֽחֲרִימָ֔/ם לְ/בִלְתִּ֥י הֱיוֹת לָ/הֶ֖ם תְּחִנָּ֑ה כִּ֚י לְמַ֣עַן הַשְׁמִידָ֔/ם כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת מֹשֶֽׁה

For it was from the LORD to strengthen their hearts to fight against Israel, in order to destroy them, so that they would have no mercy, for it was to destroy them as the LORD commanded Moses.
