Genesis 32:30

And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for, [said he], I have seen God (Elohim) face to face, and my life is preserved.

Jacob named the place Peniel (which means “face of God (Elohim)”), for he said, “I have seen God (Elohim) face to face, yet my life has been spared.”
