τίς γὰρ ἐξ ⸀ὑμῶν θέλων πύργον οἰκοδομῆσαι οὐχὶ πρῶτον καθίσας ψηφίζει τὴν δαπάνην, εἰ ⸀ἔχει εἰς ἀπαρτισμόν;
English Translation
For which of you wanting to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost, whether he has enough for its completion?

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have [wherewith] to complete it?

For which of you, that desireth to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have wherewith to complete it?

For which of you, desiring to put up a tower, does not first give much thought to the price, if he will have enough to make it complete?

For which of you, desirous of building a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, if he have what [is needed] to complete it;

For which of you having a mind to build a tower, doth not first sit down, and reckon the charges that are necessary, whether he have wherewithal to finish it:

Lest haply, when he hath laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all that behold begin to mock him,

What king goes to war with another king without first sitting down with his advisors to work out whether he and his ten thousand can defeat the one marching against him with twenty thousand?

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?

For which of you minding to builde a towre, sitteth not downe before, and counteth the cost, whether hee haue sufficient to performe it,

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

“But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?
