⸀ὅστις οὐ βαστάζει τὸν σταυρὸν ⸀ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἔρχεται ὀπίσω μου, οὐ δύναται εἶναί μου μαθητής.
English Translation
Anyone who does not bear his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Whosoever doth not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Whoever does not take up his cross and come after me may not be my disciple.

and whoever does not carry his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

And whosoever doth not carry his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have wherewith to complete it?

‘Look at him: he started building but he couldn't finish.’
