Matthew 3:14

But John would have hindered him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

“Please do so, because it's good for us to do what God (Elohim) says is right,” Yashua (Jesus) told him. So John agreed to do it.

But Iohn earnestly put him backe, saying, I haue neede to be baptized of thee, and commest thou to me?

But John tried to talk him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said, “so why are you coming to me?”
