About this video
The Book of Genesis
Genesis is the opening book of the Bible and tells the story of beginnings—creation, humanity, sin, judgment, covenant, and the origins of God’s chosen people. The book begins with God creating the heavens, the earth, and all living things, including Adam and Eve, who fall into sin and are expelled from Eden. Humanity’s wickedness grows, leading to the great flood in the days of Noah, after which God establishes a covenant with mankind.
Genesis then follows the rise of nations and the calling of Abraham, through whom God promises land, descendants, and blessing to all nations. The lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph continue the covenant story as God guides, protects, disciplines, and preserves His people through trials, journeys, conflicts, famine, and reconciliation. The book concludes with the family of Israel living in Egypt, setting the stage for the events of Exodus.
