Elisha was sitting in his house with the elders. The king had sent a messenger on ahead, but before he got there, Elisha told the elders, “Can you see how this murderer is sending someone to cut off my head? So, as soon as the messenger arrives, close the door and hold it shut against him. Isn't that the sound of his master's footsteps following him?”
Then he said, “God (Elohim) do so to me, and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat stays on him today.”
And he saide, God (Elohim) doe so to me and more also, if the head of Elisha the sonne of Shaphat shall stande on him this day.

And he says, “Thus God (Elohim) does to me and thus He adds, if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on him this day.”

“May God (Elohim) strike me and even kill me if I don’t separate Elisha’s head from his shoulders this very day,” the king vowed.
