English Translation
For the choirmaster; upon the lily of the testimony; a psalm of David; to instruct.

O God (Elohim) thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down; Thou hast been angry; oh restore us again.

For the Chief Musician; set to Shushan Eduth. Miktam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt twelve thousand. O God (Elohim) thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down; Thou hast been angry; oh restore us again.

<To the chief music-maker; put to Shushan-eduth. Michtam. Of David. For teaching. When he was fighting against Aram-naharaim and Aramzobah, when Joab came back, and put twelve thousand of the Edomites to death, in the Valley of Salt.> God (Elohim), you have put us away from you, you have sent us in all directions, you have been angry; O be turned to us again.

Michtam of David; to teach: when he strove with the Syrians of Mesopotamia, and the Syrians of Zobah, and Joab returned, and smote the Edomites in the valley of salt, twelve thousand.} O God (Elohim), thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased: restore us again.

Unto the end, for them that shall be changed, for the inscription of a title, to David himself, for doctrine,

SET ON “LILY OF TESTIMONY.” A MIKTAM OF DAVID, TO TEACH, IN HIS STRIVING WITH ARAM-NAHARAIM AND WITH ARAM-ZOBAH, WHEN JOAB TURNS BACK AND STRIKES EDOM IN THE VALLEY OF SALT—TWELVE THOUSAND. O God (Elohim), You had cast us off, || You had broken us—had been angry! You turn back to us.

O God (Elohim), thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.

You have rejected us, O God (Elohim), and broken our defenses.<br>You have been angry with us; now restore us to your favor.<br>
