Matthew 27:26

Then released he unto them Barabbas; but Yashua (Jesus) he scourged and delivered to be crucified.

Thus let he Barabbas loose vnto them, and scourged Iesus, and deliuered him to be crucified.

So Pilate released Barabbas to them. He ordered Yashua (Jesus) flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified.
