Mark 9:11

And they asked him, saying, How is it that the scribes say that Elijah must first come?

And they put a question to him, saying, Why do the scribes say that Elijah has to come first?

And they asked him saying, Why do the scribes say that Elias must first have come?

Who answering, said to them: Elias, when he shall come first, shall restore all things; and as it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things and be despised.

And they asked him, saying, The scribes say that Elijah must first come.

“It's true that Elijah comes first to prepare everything,” Yashua (Jesus) replied. “But why then does it say in Scripture that the Son of man has to suffer so much and be treated with contempt?

They asked him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
