Hear my prayer, O Yahweh, and listen to my cry; do not be silent, for I am a foreigner with you, a resident as all my ancestors.

Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, Before I go hence, and be no more. Psalm 40 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, Before I go hence, and be no more.

Let your wrath be turned away from me, so that I may be comforted, before I go away from here, and become nothing.

Look away from me, and let me recover strength, before I go hence and be no more.

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and my supplication : give ear to my tears. Be not silent : for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner as all my fathers were.

O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

Please leave me alone so I can be cheerful again, before I am dead and gone.

Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go away, and exist no more.”

Stay thine anger from me, that I may recouer my strength, before I go hence and be not.

O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

Look from me, and I brighten up before I go and am not!
