Matthew 27:20

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Yashua (Jesus).

Now the chief priests and those in authority got the people to make request for Barabbas, and for Yashua (Jesus) to be put to death.

But the governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? And they said, Barabbas.

“Why? What crime has he committed?” Pilate asked. But they shouted even louder, “Crucify him!”
