King James Version

Hosea • Chapter 5

1 Hear this, you priests, and listen, O house of Israel, and you, house of the king; give attention, for you are the judgment, for you have become a trap, and a net is spread over Tabor. 2 And the slaughter of the mighty have deepened, and I am a warning to all. 3 I knew Ephraim, and Israel was not hidden from Me; for now, you have committed adultery; Ephraim has been defiled; Israel. 4 They will not return to their God because a spirit of harlotry is within them, and they do not know the Lord. 5 And the pride of Israel will answer before My face, and Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their iniquity; Judah also will stumble with them. 6 In their sheep and in their cattle they will go to seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn from them. 7 In the LORD they have dealt treacherously, for they have borne foreign children; now a month will eat their portions. 8 Blow a trumpet in Gibeah, a horn in Ramah; sound an alarm at Beth Aven, behind you, Benjamin. 9 Ephraim shall be desolate on the day of rebuke; among the tribes of Israel, I have notified the faithful. 10 The leaders of Judah were like those who remove the boundary; I will pour out my wrath like water upon them. 11 Ephraim has been oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he willingly went after vanity. 12 And I did like Ephraim and like a moth to the house of Judah. 13 And Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, and Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to King Jareb, but he will not be able to heal you, nor will he cure you of your wound. 14 For I am like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah; I, I will tear and go away; there is no one to rescue. 15 I will go back to my place until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face; in their distress, they will earnestly seek me.
