King James Version

Leviticus • Chapter 26

1 You shall not make for yourselves idols and a carved image and a pillar you shall not erect for yourselves, and a stone for worship you shall not give in your land to bow down upon, for I am the LORD your God. 2 You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the Lord. 3 If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and do them. 4 And I will give your rains in their season, and the land will give its produce, and the tree of the field will give its fruit. 5 And you shall harvest the vintage, and the vintage shall reach the sowing; and you shall eat your bread to satisfaction, and you shall dwell securely in your land. 6 And I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down, and there will be no one to frighten; and I will eliminate evil beasts from the land, and sword will not pass through your land. 7 And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 And I turned to you and multiplied you and made you fruitful, and I established my covenant with you. 10 And you will eat the old store, and you will bring out the old because of the new. 11 And I will put my dwelling in your midst, and my soul will not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. 13 I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt from being slaves to you, and I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright. 14 And if you will not listen to me and will not do all these commandments. 15 And if you reject my statutes and if you despise my judgments so that you do not do all my commandments and break my covenant. 16 I also will do this to you, and I will appoint over you terror, the wasting disease and fever that cause the eyes to waste away and the soul to pine away, and you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 And I will set my face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you. 18 And if you do not listen to these things, I will add to chastise you sevenfold for your sins. 19 And I will break the pride of your strength, and I will make your heavens like iron and your land like bronze. 20 And your strength will be spent for nothing, and the land will not give its produce, and the trees of the land will not give their fruit. 21 And if you walk with me casually and do not want to listen to me, then I will increase upon you a blow seven times according to your sins. 22 And I will send among you the beasts of the field, and they shall bereave you; and your cattle shall be cut off, and I will diminish you, and your ways shall be desolate. 23 And if by these you will not be disciplined, and you walk with me casually. 24 And I will walk among you in hostility, and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring upon you a sword of vengeance, a punishment of the covenant, and I will gather you to your cities, and I will send pestilence within you, and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26 When I break a staff of bread for you and bake your bread in one oven, and they will return your bread by weight, and you will eat but will not be satisfied. 27 And if in this you do not listen to me and walk with me in casualness. 28 And I will walk with you in the fury of hostility, and I will also chastise you seven times for your sins. 29 And you shall eat the flesh of your sons and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters. 30 And I will destroy your high places, and I will cut down your incense altars, and I will lay your dead bodies upon the dead bodies of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. 31 And I will make your cities desolate, and I will destroy your sanctuaries, and I will not smell the fragrance of your sweet offerings. 32 And I will ruin the land, and your enemies who dwell in it will be desolate. 33 And I will gather you among the nations and I will bring a sword after you; and your land shall be desolate and your cities shall be waste. 34 Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths all the days of its desolation, and you, in the land of your enemies, then the land will rest and will enjoy its Sabbaths. 35 All the days of the year you shall rest what you did not rest on your Sabbaths in your dwelling place. 36 And the remnant that remain among you, I will bring a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, and they shall be pursued by the sound of a leaf driven, and they shall flee as if from a sword, and they shall fall, and there shall be no pursuer. 37 And if a man stumbles before his brother because of the sword and there is no pursuer, there will not be for you a standing before your enemies. 38 And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 And the remnant among you will be consumed because of your iniquities in the lands of your enemies, and also because of the iniquities of your fathers with you they will be consumed. 40 And they will confess their sin and the sin of their fathers, in the unfaithfulness which they committed against me, and also because they walked with me with disdain. 41 I too will go with them in their stubbornness, and I will bring them into the land of their enemies; then their uncircumcised heart will be humbled, and then they will accept their punishment. 42 And I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham I will remember, and the land I will remember. 43 And the land will be forsaken by them, and it will observe My Sabbaths while they are in their desolation, and they will bear their iniquity because they rejected My judgments and despised My statutes. 44 And even this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I abhor them to destroy them, to break My covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God. 45 And I will remember for them the covenant of the first ones, which I brought them out from the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, to be for them a God; I am the LORD. 46 These are the statutes and the judgments and the teachings which the Lord gave between Him and the children of Israel at Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
