English Translation
And it was when Pharaoh let the people go, that God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, for it was near; for God said, "Lest the people change their mind when they see war, and return to Egypt."

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God (Elohim) led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God (Elohim) said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

Now after Pharaoh had let the people go, God (Elohim) did not take them through the land of the Philistines, though that was near: for God (Elohim) said, If the people see war, they may have a change of heart and go back to Egypt.

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh let the people go, that God (Elohim) did not lead them the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God (Elohim) said, That the people may not repent when they see conflict, and return to Egypt.

And when Pharao had sent out the people, the Lord led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines which is near: thinking lest perhaps they would repent, if they should see wars arise against them, and would return into Egypt.

And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God (Elohim) will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

So God (Elohim) led the people by the longer way through the desert towards the Red Sea. When the Israelites left the land of Egypt they were like an army ready for battle.

When Pharaoh had let the people go, God (Elohim) didn’t lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God (Elohim) said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt”;

Nowe when Pharaoh had let the people go, God (Elohim) caried them not by the way of the Philistims countrey, though it were neerer: (for God (Elohim) sayd, Lest the people repent whe they see warre, and turne againe to Egypt)

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God (Elohim) led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God (Elohim) said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God (Elohim) led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God (Elohim) said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God (Elohim) did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God (Elohim) said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God (Elohim) led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near, for God (Elohim) said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt.
