King James Version
Hebrews • Chapter 13
1
Let brotherly love continue.
2
Do not forget hospitality, for by this some have entertained angels unawares.
3
Remember those in prison as if you were bound with them, and those mistreated as if you yourselves were also in the body.
4
Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled, for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
5
The manner is free from love of money; being content with the present things; for he himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
6
So that we may confidently say: The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid; what will man do to me?
7
Remember your leaders, who spoke to you the word of God; consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
9
Do not be carried away by various and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by Grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those who are occupied with them.
10
We have an altar from which those who serve at the tent have no authority to eat.
11
For the blood of animals is brought in for sin into the holy places by the high priest, but their bodies are burned outside the camp.
12
Therefore Jesus also, to sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered outside the gate.
13
Therefore, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
14
For we do not have here a lasting city, but we seek the one that is to come.
15
Through him then let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips acknowledging his name.
16
Do not forget the good deeds and the sharing; for with such sacrifices, God is pleased.
17
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are watching over your souls as those who will have to give an account, so that they may do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
18
Pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.
19
But I urge you to do this more so, that I may be restored to you more quickly.
20
Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus,
21
to equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
22
I urge you, brothers, to bear with the word of encouragement, for I have briefly written to you.
23
You know our brother Timothy, who has been set free; with him, if he comes quickly, I will see you.
24
Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
25
The Grace be with you all.
