Mark Chapter 1
Mark chapter 1 begins with the ministry of John the Baptist, who prepares the way for Jesus by preaching repentance and baptizing people in the Jordan River. Jesus is baptized by John, and the heavens open as the Spirit descends upon Him while a voice from heaven declares Him to be the beloved Son of God. Jesus is then led into the wilderness where He is tempted by Satan before beginning His ministry in Galilee, proclaiming that the kingdom of God is near and calling people to repent and believe.

Jesus calls His first disciples, including Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John, who immediately leave their work to follow Him. Throughout the chapter, Jesus teaches with authority, casts out unclean spirits, heals the sick, including Peter’s mother-in-law, and ministers to large crowds. Despite growing fame, Jesus often withdraws to pray and continues traveling to preach throughout the region.
