Mark Chapter 4
Mark chapter 4 centers on Jesus teaching through parables about the kingdom of God. He begins with the parable of the sower, describing different responses to the word of God depending on the condition of the heart. Jesus explains that parables both reveal truth to those willing to receive it and conceal it from hardened hearts.

Additional parables describe the kingdom as a growing seed and as a mustard seed that begins small yet grows greatly. Later, while crossing the sea with His disciples, a violent storm arises. As the disciples fear for their lives, Jesus rebukes the wind and sea, instantly calming the storm. The disciples are left amazed and fearful, questioning who He is that even the wind and waves obey Him.
