King James Version
Isaiah • Chapter 34
1
Draw near, O nations, to hear; and you peoples, give heed. Let the earth hear, and its fullness, the world and all that comes from it.
2
For the wrath of the LORD is upon all the nations and fury upon all their armies; he has utterly destroyed them, he has delivered them to the slaughter.
3
And their slain will be thrown away, and their carcasses will rise in the fire, and the mountains will melt from their blood.
4
And all the host of heaven will be dissolved, and the sky will roll up like a scroll, and all its host will fall like a leaf from the vine and like a withered fig from the tree.
5
For it is a sword in the heavens; behold, it descends upon Edom and upon the people of my curse for judgment.
6
A sword for the LORD is filled with blood; it is made greasy with the fat of lambs and rams, with the fat of kidneys of goats, for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7
And the wild oxen shall go down with them, and the bulls with the mighty ones, and their land shall be soaked with blood and their dust with the fat of the slain.
8
For it is the day of vengeance for the Lord, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
9
And the rivers of her will be turned to pitch, and her dust to sulfur, and her land will become burning pitch.
10
Night and day shall not be extinguished forever; smoke shall rise from generation to generation; it shall be desolate forever; ages of ages there shall be no passerby in it.
11
And they will inherit the hawk and the kestrel, and the owl and the raven will dwell in it, and He will stretch over it the line of chaos and the stones of emptiness.
12
There is no ruler there; all its leaders will be nothing.
13
And the fortresses of her syringes shall rise, and the horn in her fortifications, and it shall be a dwelling place for jackals, a pasture for ostrich daughters.
14
And they encountered the shining ones at the isles, and a goat upon its companion will be called; but there, Lilith became quiet, and for her, there found rest.
15
There the kite built a nest and laid eggs, and it brooded in its shade; but there the doves gathered, the woman of her friendship.
16
Seek from the book of the Lord and read; one of them will not be missing; a female friend will not be left behind; for His mouth has commanded, and His Spirit has gathered them.
17
And he cast lots for them, and his hand distributed to them by line; until forever they shall inherit it, to generation and generation they shall dwell in it.
