King James Version
Joshua • Chapter 18
1
And all the assembly of the children of Israel were gathered at Shiloh, and they set up the tent of meeting there, and the land was subdued before them.
2
And the children of Israel who did not receive their inheritance among the seven tribes were left over.
3
And Joshua said to the children of Israel, "How long will you be slack to go in to possess the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?"
4
Bring to you three men for the tribe, and I will send them, and they will arise and walk in the land and write it according to the portion of their inheritance, and they will come to me.
5
And they shall divide it into seven portions; Judah shall stand at his boundary on the south, and the house of Joseph shall stand at their boundary on the north.
6
And you shall write the land into seven portions, and bring them to me here, and I will cast lots for you before the LORD our God.
7
For there is no portion for the Levites among you, for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance; and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh took their inheritance from across the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.
8
And the men got up and went, and Joshua commanded those who were going to write the land, saying, "Go and walk through the land and write it down, and return to me, and I will cast lots for you before the Lord in Shiloh."
9
And the men went and passed through the land and wrote on a scroll for the cities seven portions, and they came to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh.
10
And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord, and Joshua divided there the land to the sons of Israel according to their portions.
11
And the lot went up for the tribe of the sons of Benjamin by their families, and the border of their lot came out between the sons of Judah and between the sons of Joseph.
12
And their boundary shall be at the edge of the north from the Jordan, and the boundary shall rise to the shoulder of Jericho from the north, and it shall ascend to the mountain westward; then the exits shall be at the wilderness of Beth Aven.
13
And the boundary passed from there to Luz on the south side; it is Bethel, and the boundary went down to Atarot Adar on the mountain which is south of Beit Horon Lower.
14
And the border will turn southward at the shore of the sea from the mountain that is in front of Beth Horon southward, and it will be that its exits will be to Kiriath Baal, which is Kiriath Jearim, a city of the sons of Judah; this is the western border.
15
And the border shall go out from the corner of Kiryat Yearim southward, and the border shall go out westward and shall go out to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.
16
And the border shall go down to the end of the mountain which is before the valley of the son of Hinnom which is in the plain of Rephaim to the north, and it shall go down to the valley of Hinnom at the shoulder of the Jebusite to the south, and it shall go down to the spring of Rogel.
17
And the tar from the north will go out, a sunbeam will go out toward the hills that are opposite the ascent of Edom, and a stone will descend, the son of Reuben.
18
And he crossed over to the shoulder opposite the Arabah to the north, and he went down to the Arabah.
19
And the border shall pass to the shoulder of Beth-Haglah on the north, and the outgoing of the border shall be to the salt sea at the south end of the Jordan; this is the southern border.
20
And the Jordan shall border it on the eastern side; this is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families.
21
And the cities shall be for the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, for their families: Jericho and Beth Hagalah and the valley of Keziz.
22
And/at the house of the Arabah, and/at Zemarim, and/at the house of El.
23
And the wicked and the cow and her dust.
24
And like the Ammonite, the Ammonite was, and the Ophtan, and Gabah, two cities in number, and their outskirts.
25
Gibeon and Ramah and Beeroth.
26
And the lookout, and the lioness, and the unleavened bread.
27
And/Rekem and/Yirpeal and/Taralah.
28
And the shadow of the thousand and the Jebusite, this is Jerusalem, a height of cities, fourteen, and their courtyards; this is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin to their families.
