King James Version
2 Chronicles • Chapter 31
1
And when they had finished all this, all Israel who were found went out to the cities of Judah and broke down the standing stones and cut down the Asherah poles and tore down the high places and the altars throughout all Judah and Benjamin and in Ephraim and Manasseh until they had finished. And all the children of Israel returned, each to his own possession, to their cities.
2
And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites according to their divisions, each according to his service for the priests and for the Levites, for the burnt offerings and for the peace offerings, to serve and to give thanks and to praise in the gates of the camps of the Lord.
3
And the king's portion from his possessions was for the burnt offerings of the morning and the evening and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths and for the months and for the appointed times, as it is written in the law of the Lord.
4
And he said to the people, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to give a portion to the priests and the Levites so that they may be strengthened in the law of the Lord.
5
And as the matter broke forth, the sons of Israel increased the firstfruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and all the harvest of the field, and the tithe of everything they brought in abundance.
6
And the children of Israel and Judah who dwell in the cities of Judah, they also brought the tithe of cattle and sheep and the holy things that were consecrated to the LORD their God; they brought and laid them in heaps, heaps.
7
In the month of the third, they began the piles to establish, and in the month of the seventh, they finished.
8
And Hezekiah and the officials came and saw the piles, and they blessed the Lord and His people Israel.
9
And Hezekiah inquired of the priests and the Levites about the piles.
10
And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok said to me, "From the beginning of the offering to bring into the house of the LORD, eat and be full, and the remainder until abundance, for the LORD has blessed His people, and the remainder is this great multitude."
11
And Hezekiah said to prepare to dwell in the house of the Lord, and they prepared.
12
And they brought the offering and the tithe and the holy things faithfully, and over them was the leader Konaniah, the Levite, and Shimei his brother was second.
13
And Jehi'el and Azariah and Nathan and Ashai'el and Jerimoth and Jozabad and Elial and Yismahiah and Mahath and Benaiah, officials from the hand of Conaniah, and Shemaiah, his brother, under the command of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah, ruler of the house of God.
14
And the son of Yimnah, the Levite, who is the gatekeeper toward the east, is responsible for the offerings to God, to give the contributions of Yahweh and the holy things of the holy.
15
And on his hand Eden and Minyamin and Yeshua and Shemaiah and Amaryahu and Shekhanyahu in the cities of the priests, faithfully to give to their brothers in divisions, like the great so the small.
16
Except for those who are counted for males from three years old and upward, for all who come to the house of the Lord to serve on their appointed day according to their divisions.
17
And the priests shall relate to the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and above in their watches and in their divisions.
18
And to relate to all their children, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, to every congregation, for by their faith they will be sanctified as holy.
19
And for the sons of Aaron, the priests, in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city and city, men who were designated by name to give portions to every male among the priests and to all who are related among the Levites.
20
And Hezekiah did this in all Judah, and he did what was good and right and true before the Lord his God.
21
In all the work that he began in the service of the house of God and in the law and in the commandment to seek his God, he did it with all his heart and prospered.
