1 And the queen of Sheba heard of the name of Solomon and came to test Solomon with riddles in Jerusalem with a very great army and camels bearing spices and much gold and precious stones. And she came to Solomon and spoke with him all that was in her heart. 2 And Solomon told her all his words, and nothing was hidden from Solomon that he did not tell her. 3 And the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon and the house that he built. 4 And the food of his table, and the seat of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their garments, and his drinks, and their garments, and his upper chamber which he will go up to the house of the LORD, and there will no longer be a spirit. 5 And she said to the king, "True is the word that I have heard in my country about your matters and about your wisdom." 6 And I did not believe their words until I came, and my eyes saw; and behold, the half of your wisdom was not told to me. You have surpassed the report that I heard. 7 Blessed are the men of yours, and blessed are your servants, who stand before you always and hear your wisdom. 8 May the LORD your God be blessed, who desired you to set you upon His throne as king for the LORD your God, in the love of your God for Israel, to establish him forever, and He set you over them as king to execute justice and righteousness. 9 And she gave to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold and spices very great in quantity and precious stones; there was no spice like that which the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. 10 And also the servants of Hiram and the servants of Solomon who brought gold from Ophir brought almug trees and precious stones. 11 And the king made the algum trees into walkways for the house of the LORD and for the house of the king, and harps and lyres for the singers, and they were not seen again in the land of Judah. 12 And King Solomon gave to the Queen of Sheba all that she asked for, besides what she brought to the king, and she turned and went to her land, she and her servants. 13 And the weight of the gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold. 14 Only the merchants and the traders bring, and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land bring gold and silver to Solomon. 15 And King Solomon made two hundred shields of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into one shield. 16 And three hundred shields of gold, refined gold, three hundred gold will go upon the shield of the one, and the king will give them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. 17 And the king made a great throne and covered it with pure gold. 18 And six steps to the throne, and a platform of gold for the throne, and arms on this side and on that side upon the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the arms. 19 And twelve lions are standing there on six steps, one here and one there; thus, it was not done for any kingdom. 20 And all the drinking vessels of King Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the Lebanon were of pure gold; silver was not considered valuable in the days of Solomon. 21 For ships to the king go to Tarshish with the servants of Hiram; one every three years the ships of Tarshish will come, bringing gold and silver, ivory, apes, and baboons. 22 And King Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom. 23 And all the kings of the earth seek the face of Solomon to hear the wisdom which God had put in his heart. 24 And they bring a man with an offering of silver vessels and gold vessels and garments, weapons, and spices, horses and mules, every year. 25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem. 26 And he was ruler over all the kings from the river and to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. 27 And the king gave the silver in Jerusalem like stones, and the cedars he gave like the sycamores that are in the lowland in abundance. 28 And they bring out horses from Egypt for Solomon and from all the lands. 29 And the rest of the words of Solomon, the former and the latter, are they not written on the words of Nathan the prophet and on the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the vision of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat? 30 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel for forty years. 31 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
