King James Version

Exodus • Chapter 15

1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and they said, "I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea." 2 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father's God, and I will exalt him. 3 The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is His name. 4 The chariots of Pharaoh and his army were thrown into the sea, and his chosen officers sank in the Red Sea. 5 The depths will cover it; they went down into the depths like a stone. 6 Your right hand, O LORD, is majestic in power; your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy. 7 In the abundance of your pride, you will destroy your adversaries; you will send forth your wrath, it will consume them like straw. 8 And in the breath of your anger, waters were piled up; they stood like a heap; the depths were frozen in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said, "I will chase, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied on them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them." 10 You breathed with your spirit; like a mighty sea, they sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like You, O Lord? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in praises, doing wonders? 12 You have stretched out your right hand; the earth will swallow them up. 13 You have guided with your kindness the people you have redeemed; you have led them with your strength to your holy dwelling. 14 The peoples heard, they trembled; anguish seized the inhabitants of Philistia. 15 Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed; the mighty men of Moab trembled; all the inhabitants of Canaan melted away. 16 Let terror and dread fall upon them; by the greatness of your arm, let them become like stone until your people pass over, O Lord, until the people you acquired pass over. 17 You will bring and plant it on the mountain of your inheritance, the place where you made your dwelling, O Lord; the place, O Lord, that you have established with your hands. 18 The Lord shall reign forever and ever. 19 For the horse of Pharaoh came with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord turned back the waters of the sea upon them, and the children of Israel went on dry ground in the midst of the sea. 20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances. 21 And Miriam answered them, "Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea." 22 And Moses led Israel from the Sea of Reeds, and they went out to the Wilderness of Shur, and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23 And they came to Marah, and they could not drink water from Marah because it was bitter; therefore, it was named Marah. 24 And the people complained against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" 25 And he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There He made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He tested them. 26 And he said, "If you will surely listen to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His eyes, and give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon Egypt, for I am the Lord who heals you." 27 And they came to Elim, and there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there by the waters.
