Exodus • Chapter 36

1 And Bezalel and Aholiab and every wise-hearted man whom the Lord has given wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work of the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the Lord has commanded. 2 And Moses called to Bezalel and to Aholiab and to every wise-hearted man whom the Lord had given wisdom in his heart, everyone whose heart stirred him to come to the work to do it. 3 And they took from before Moses all the offering that the children of Israel brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary to make it, and they brought to him still more freewill offerings in the morning by the morning. 4 And all the wise men who perform all the work of the sanctuary came, each man from his work which they were doing. 5 And they said to Moses, saying, "The people are increasing to bring more than the work that Yahweh has commanded to do." 6 And Moses commanded, and they passed a voice through the camp, saying, "Let no man or woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary," and the people were restrained from bringing. 7 And the work was sufficient for all the work to do it, and there was leftover. 8 And all the wise-hearted craftsmen made the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim, the work of a skilled embroiderer, they made them. 9 The length of one curtain is twenty-eight cubits, and the width of one curtain is four cubits; the curtain is of the same measure for all the curtains. 10 And he connected the five curtains together, one to another, and the five curtains he joined, one to another. 11 And he made loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain from the end in the joining; thus he made in the edge of the curtain that is outer in the joining of the second. 12 He made fifty loops in the one curtain and fifty loops at the edge of the curtain that is in the second set, opposite to the loops of the first curtain. 13 And he made fifty clasps of gold, and he coupled the curtains together, one to another, by the clasps, and the tabernacle became one. 14 And he made curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains. 15 The length of one curtain is thirty cubits, and its width is four cubits; the one curtain has the same measure for making ten curtains. 16 And he connected the five curtains together and the six curtains together. 17 And he made fifty loops on the edge of the outer curtain in the arrangement, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the inner curtain. 18 And he made five bronze clasps to join the tent together to be one. 19 And he made a covering for the tent of goat skins and a covering of red-dyed ram skins above. 20 And he made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing. 21 Ten cubits is the length of the board, and a cubit and a half is the width of the board of the one board. 22 Two hands for one post were joined one to another; thus he made for all the posts of the tabernacle. 23 And he made the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the side of the south toward the desert. 24 And he made forty bases of silver under twenty boards; two bases under one board for its two tenons, and two bases under another board for its two tenons. 25 And for the side of the second tabernacle, toward the north, he made twenty boards. 26 And forty silver bases, two bases under one board and two bases under another board. 27 And to the sides of the Tabernacle he made six boards. 28 And he made two frames for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear. 29 And they shall be twins from below, and together they shall be whole at the head and at the one sign; thus he made for each of them for the two sides. 30 And there shall be eight boards, and their sockets shall be silver, sixteen sockets, two sockets under one board. 31 And he made five bars of acacia wood for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, the one. 32 And five bars for the boards of the second side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the rear side to the west. 33 And he made the middle bar to run through the boards from end to end. 34 And he overlaid the boards with gold and made gold rings for the bars and overlaid the bars with gold. 35 And he made the curtain of blue and purple and scarlet yarn and fine twined linen, the work of a skilled craftsman; he made it with cherubim. 36 And he made for her four pillars of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold, and their hooks were of gold, and he cast for them four bases of silver. 37 And he made a screen for the entrance of the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, the work of a skilled craftsman. 38 And the five pillars of them, and their hooks, and their tops of them, and their bands of gold, and their bases of them five of bronze.
