King James Version
Exodus • Chapter 40
1
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying.
2
On the first day of the first month, you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
3
And you shall put the ark of the testimony there, and you shall cover the ark with the veil.
4
And you shall bring the table and arrange its setting, and you shall bring the lampstand and raise up its lamps.
5
And you shall put the altar of gold for incense before the Ark of the Testimony, and you shall set the screen at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
6
And you shall set the altar of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tent of meeting.
7
And you shall put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and you shall put water there.
8
And you shall place the courtyard around, and you shall put the screen of the gate of the courtyard.
9
And you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and you shall consecrate it and all its utensils, and it shall be holy.
10
And you shall anoint the altar of the burnt offering and all its utensils, and you shall consecrate the altar, and the altar shall be most holy.
11
And you shall anoint the basin and its base, and you shall sanctify them.
12
And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and you shall wash them with water.
13
And you shall dress Aaron with the garments of the sanctuary, and you shall anoint him and consecrate him, and he shall serve as a priest to Me.
14
And you shall bring your sons, and you shall dress them in tunics.
15
And you shall anoint them as you anointed their father, and they shall minister to Me, and it shall be for them a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.
16
And Moses did according to all that the LORD commanded him; so he did.
17
And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was erected.
18
And Moses raised the Tabernacle and set its bases, and he placed its boards, and he put its bars, and he raised its pillars.
19
And he spread the tent over the tabernacle and placed the covering of the tent over it from above, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
20
And he took and placed the testimony into the ark, and he put the poles on the ark, and he placed the cover upon the ark from above.
21
And he brought the ark into the tabernacle and set up the veil of the screen and covered the ark of the testimony as the Lord commanded Moses.
22
And he set the table in the tent of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil.
23
And he arranged for me a table before the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.
24
And he set the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the side of the tabernacle toward the south.
25
And the lamps were raised before the Lord as the Lord commanded Moses.
26
And he set the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the veil.
27
And he burned incense upon it, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
28
And he set the screen at the entrance to the tabernacle.
29
And he placed the altar of the burnt offering at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and he offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as the LORD commanded Moses.
30
And he placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and he put water there for washing.
31
And Moses and Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet.
32
When they come to the tent of meeting and when they approach the altar, they shall wash, as commanded by the Lord to Moses.
33
And he erected the courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and he set the screen at the entrance of the courtyard, and Moses finished the work.
34
And the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
35
And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud dwelled upon it and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
36
And when the cloud rises from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel will set out on all their journeys.
37
And if the cloud does not rise, and they do not travel until the day it rises.
38
For the cloud of the LORD was over the Tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.
