Exodus • Chapter 39

1 And from the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet thread, they made the garments of ministry for serving in the holy place, and they made the holy garments for Aaron, as the Lord commanded Moses. 2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine twisted linen. 3 And they will make the gold plates and cut threads to make within the blue and within the purple and within the scarlet thread and within the fine linen, the work of a skilled artisan. 4 They made shoulder pieces for it, fastened on two ends, and joined. 5 And consider the garment that is upon me, from which it is made, like the work of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, as Yahweh commanded Moses. 6 And they made the stones of the onyx set in gold settings, engraved like signets with the names of the children of Israel. 7 And he placed them on the shoulder of the ephod as stones of remembrance for the children of Israel, as the Lord commanded Moses. 8 And he made the breastplate, the work of a skilled craftsman, like the work of the ephod, of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet yarn, and twisted linen. 9 A square was made, doubled, for the breastpiece: a span in length and a span in width, doubled. 10 "And they filled four rows of stones, a row of red stone and a row of barquet." 11 And the second row is a stone of sapphire and a diamond. 12 And the third mountain is named Shvo and Achlama. 13 And the fourth row shall be beryl, onyx, and jasper, surrounded by settings of gold in their enclosures. 14 And the stones are upon the names of the sons of Israel; they are twelve in number, according to their names, the engravings of a seal, each man according to his name, for the twelve tribes. 15 And they made chains for the breastplate, twisted work of pure gold. 16 And they made two gold settings and two gold rings, and they placed the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate. 17 And they put two gold rings on the two ends of the breastplate. 18 And they placed the two ends of the two chains upon the two settings, and they put them upon the shoulder pieces of the ephod toward the front of it. 19 And they made two rings of gold and put them on the two ends of the breastplate on its edge, which is toward the waistband of the ephod. 20 And they shall make two gold rings and put them on the two shoulders of the ephod, at its front, opposite its band, above the woven work of the ephod. 21 And they fastened the breastplate with its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, to be on the front of the ephod, and the breastplate shall not be loosened from the ephod, as Yahweh commanded Moses. 22 And he made the robe of the ephod, the work of a weaver, entirely of blue. 23 And the hem of the robe was in its midst like the opening of a tunic, with an edge all around it; it shall not be torn. 24 And they made pomegranates on the hem of the robe of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely twisted linen. 25 And they made golden bells of pure gold and they placed the bells within the pomegranates on the hem of the robe all around among the pomegranates. 26 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, on the hem of the robe all around to minister, as the LORD commanded Moses. 27 And they made the tunics of fine linen, the work of a weaver, for Aaron and his sons. 28 And the fine linen headdress, and the fine linen turbans, and the fine linen trousers made of twisted linen. 29 And the fabric of fine linen with blue and purple and scarlet wool, the work of a weaver, as the Lord commanded Moses. 30 And they shall make the headplate of the holy crown of pure gold, and they shall inscribe on it an inscription of the engravings of a sign: "Holy to the LORD." 31 And they put a thread of blue on the mitre above, as the Lord commanded Moses. 32 And all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was completed; and the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they did. 33 And they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bases. 34 and the covering of the skins of the rams that are dyed red and the covering of the skins of seals and the curtain of the screen 35 the Ark of the Testimony and the poles and the Mercy Seat 36 The table and all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence. 37 The pure lampstand, its lamps, the lamps of the arrangement, and all its utensils, and the oil for the light. 38 and the altar of gold and the anointing oil and the incense of perfumes and the screen at the entrance of the tent 39 The bronze altar and the bronze grating that belonged to him, and all his utensils, the basin and its base. 40 The pegs of the courtyard, the pillars, and the bases, and the screen for the gate of the courtyard, the cords and the pegs, and all the instruments for the service of the tabernacle for the tent of meeting. 41 The garments of the chief priest for ministering in the sanctuary, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons to serve as priests. 42 According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. 43 And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded; thus they had done it, and Moses blessed them.
